Cette année , le ministère du tourisme a récompensé l' Ecolodge Oasis Bab el Oued Maroc situé a Agdz dans le sud marocain , pour son engagement éco touristique et durable s'inscrivant parfaitement dans la vision durable 2020 du Royaume . We arrive to Tanmougalt outside of Agdz and enter Moroccan ecolodge Bab el Oued Maroc Oasis Guesthouse. We are guided through the beautiful property nestled next to the Draa river and given a tour of our family suite. In our room is a care package of organic cosmetics and organic soaps made right here at this ecolodge of Morocco. Agdz is famous for it’s dates and the palms of Bab el Oued deliver tasty treats for us to enjoy. We are treated to a Moroccan tea made with herbs as the sunsets and we continue our tour. We explore the ecolodge and see the organic farm animals that call the ecolodge home. There are cows with there babies, geese, chickens, turkeys, camels, goats, and sheep. The sound of the farm animals is complimented by the birds that call the Draa valley home. I meet a friendly camel who wants to give me a camel kiss. As the sun sets down we leave the ecolodge to explore a Kasbah which is situated directly in front of Bab el Oued. Agdz Morocco is near Tamnougalt. They are located in the Draa Valley between Ouarzazate and Zagora in the Atlas mountains. We explore a date palm Oasis located along the Draa River. The Atlas mountains and Jbel Kissane overlook us. We walk further away from Ecolodge Bab el Oued Oasis Guesthouse to the Moroccan village of Tamnougalt. We are in search of water, but we only find one hnout selling water. There was a traditional well, but we did not use it. From Bab El Oued Moroccan ecolodge we head back up to the Kasbah for a Moroccan sunset, and a magical moonrise. The rock and geology of Morocco is always fascinating to me. Are these rocks of zagora volcanic? Afterwards we have a chicken tajine with preserved lemon and it is top notch. The sauce was savory and earthy. It reminded me of a hish puppy from Long John Silver's in a very good way. For desert we had homemade yogurt. We go to bed for our last night at Bab El Oued and sleep well in our traditionally built house. FIND OUT MORE HERE! Agdz, Morocco, we wake up for a Moroccan breakfast at Palmeraie Bab el Oued. We were delighted to find smen, baghrir, msemen, and an assortment of Moroccan preserves.Specialties of this breakfast were the date paste, pomegrante preserve, lemon preserve, and an orange and honey mix. The Moroccan pancakes were especially soft, with the home grown wheat used from the palmeraie. We enjoyed the view of the Draa Valley Oasis and surrounding Moroccan mountains while listening to the sounds of birds calling Bab Al Oued and this palm valley oasis home. Moroccan ecolodge Bab el Oued uses local ingredients almost exclusively. This dedication to local sustainability and consumption is what makes Bab El Oued ecolodge so special in the Zagora region of the Draa Valley, Agdz, and all of Morocco!
